Join Professor David Fox in this live, interactive tutorial in which he will explain how the AIC criterion is used to compute model weights. Using R you will be shown how to fit general and generalized linear models, assess goodness-of-fit and to obtain model-averaged estimates and confidence intervals. Topics to be covered include:

  • assessing the fit for nested models
  • use R to compute model weights ‘by hand’
  • fitting a generalized linear model to binomial data and assessing using analysis of deviance
  • using the drc and drda packagaes in R for concentration-response (C-R) modelling
  • obtaining a model-averaged ECx
  • inference for a model-averaged estimate
